RostLab at Virginia Tech is always looking for driven and passionate students/researchers interested in the field of novel, complex, and functional ceramics. We review graduate student applications twice a year, in October and March, offering candidates the chance to join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing material science through cutting-edge research. Our collaborative environment and access to state-of-the-art resources provide an excellent foundation for innovative work. Prospective applicants are encouraged to prepare their materials and apply during our designated review periods to become part of our pioneering research group.

For postdoctoral applicants:

Email Dr. Rost with a cover letter, your CV, and a statement of your research interests. This will help set up a potential meeting to discuss your fit and opportunities within our lab. Be sure to highlight your relevant experience and how your research aligns with our work in complex and functional ceramics.

For graduate student applicants:

Graduate students interested in joining RostLab must apply to the Virginia Tech Graduate School before the application deadline. Ensure to note Dr. Rost as the research professor you are interested in working with on your application. This step is crucial for aligning your application with our lab’s recruitment process. Please subsequently reach out to Dr. Rost via email with a cover letter and resume to set up a meeting.

For undergraduate student applicants:

Undergraduate students interested in joining RostLab should email Dr. Rost with a resume and cover letter highlighting your research interests. Applications are accepted at any time, offering flexibility for students eager to gain hands-on research experience. After a one semester probational period, undergraduate students may perform research for degree credit or an hourly wage.

RostLab is located in the newly renovated Holden Hall.
